I Think God Knows

We looked and nodded at each other. We knew we could do this.”Two trips is for weaklings!” I said, as my girlfriend and I decided to take up all the groceries in one trip to her apartment; not to mention we were also carrying many other things. I don’t think we thought it through that well, seeing as how we needed to get through multiple doors and we had no free hands between us. Just then a random passerby helped us get through door one, and when we got to the second floor, there he was, waiting for us. He saw we were struggling and decided that he would help, more than we had imagined he would, yet at first, we refused.

How many times have we refused help because we have an, “I can do this on my own!” mentality?

I see people do this all the time; not take all the groceries in at once, only a select few can manage that. Rather we get so many things crowding our lives that we end up finding ourselves over burdened, tired, impassionate, and confused about how we got there. When that happens, we don’t blame ourselves, nope, we blame God! As if He didn’t know our situation and didn’t care for us.

Yet if we look, we can catch a glimpse of the fact that God hasn’t left us or abandoned us to our problems, but has been standing by waiting for us to ask for help, and asking us if we need it.

After pointlessly continuing to struggle, we finally relented and got the help we needed so badly.

Don’t let yourself get in the way of recieveing what God has for you. Let Him help carry the burden.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
